Sam is Torbay's first and only master installer for the National Institute of carpets and floor laying, Quick-Step, Balterio, Floorskills.

More than 70 years of combined experience in the flooring business 

 The owner of Sam Willis Carpets & Flooring, Sam, started from the bottom when he was just 4 years old and been in the trade for over 19 years and is now 35. His dad, Tony, started sharing his knowledge in the trade with his 55 years of experience in torbay. Sam has gone on to be qualified in all flooring and does up to date training yearly to offer the best service and is 7 x master installer since the age of 28 and is also 3 x semi finalist in carpet fitter of the year uk, final 14 since the age of 30.

sam has also been offered to do teaching, helping apprenticeships. Also wanting him to go on doing teaching qualification, lesson plans and help develop the training facilties  and helping bring the next generation through, but was not right timing it was a lot commitment.

Sam has also tested products for manufactures, Manufactures have used our videos like Hanson plywood and also done stands at flooring shows for manufactures. We has also installed for one of karndean mangers recommend by there head trainer and technical at the time also installed for staff who helped do flooring apprentice's with ofsted and lots more.

He has built up extensive knowledge about materials and quality while using traditional and contemporary methods.

Riley, who has been with the company since beginning his apprenticeship in 2016 over 6 years now is fully qualified nvq level 2 in textile and resilient also passing his master dipolma with quickstep flooring in jan 2023 making hime one the youngest master installers in the country at 23 

Riley is 2 x master installer in straight lay lvt and herringbone

Riley is also a fitter member of the NICF #1689 since 2018 and had already started getting certificates with over 8 including uizn, fball cpd and more 

Aidan who is Rileys older Brother who starting with us 21st November 2023 we are excited to have him with us starting his new flooring journey. He is now coming on brilliant and learning very well and been with us over a year now, hes has done training away at fball doing subfloor prep from damp proofing smoothing compounds and installing lvt straight lay and herringobne.
